The wobble is gone. One joint needed glue and a night under a stack of books. I found a pencilled name underneath the seat. Leaving it there feels like part of the repair.

Found a wobbly wooden chair beside the bins. Brought it home with the confidence of someone who has watched exactly one repair video. The chair and I will be learning together.
